Hope Floats

One of my favorite movies of all time that I watch whenever I have a chance is Hope Floats. The movie starts out with Sandra Bullock having the rug pulled out from under her feet by her husband’s mistress, her best friend on national tv. The foundation of her relationship experiences something akin to an earthquake and her life goes down the toilet with the whole world watching.  As the movie goes on you watch as she experiences despair, depression, anger and slowly she assembles her life on a more solid foundation in which hope floats to the surface.

A Desired Outcome

Hope is defined as cherishing a desired outcome with expectation. A belief in a positive outcome related to circumstances and events in one’s life. When you give up all hope of ever getting what you want. It comes. In essence what we are giving up is false hope, hope that is attached to a future outcome or gaining a future reward. Anytime we have expectation of a future outcome we are setting ourselves up. If the expected outcome is not forthcoming, we are left disappointed and bitter. And many times people turn away from God when their prayers have not been answered.

Calling On The Invisible Reality

Prayers call on the Invisible Reality for help. It is speaking with God, silently or vocally. My orientation has always been silent prayer but recently I have been getting guidance to state the prayers out loud. As we are opening up to the fifth dimension of Christ consciousness, the chakra or area of the body that is being stimulated is the throat. So for me, I feel it important to say my intentions and prayers out loud especially when I am alone.

Show Me The Way

Prayers are the most powerful when we bring our own will in alignment so that we can achieve something. God show me the way; please give me the strength to deal with this issue with ease. This kind of praying is most effective in finding direction not achieving a result. We are attaching to the Invisible Reality not the outcome.

The Door Opens

The gospel of Matthew reads: Seek and you shall find, ask and you shall be answered, knock and the door shall be opened. We do not open the door; the door is opened for us. Many of us offer deals to the Invisible Reality. “If I get this, I’ll do this for you” There are no deals with the Divine. We have to show our trust in the invisible first, and then see what happens.
